This beautiful, lake front home, custom crafted by Tammy's husband and "America's Church Builder" Roe Messner, is on the market just in time to enjoy summer on the lake.
Roe built this house for Tammy Faye in 2007. Tammy was only able to enjoy this home for 20 days before she passed away. The house has been vacant ever since.
Tammy told Roe that she wanted a sunken fireplace so that she could sit with her friends, surrounded by pillows, in front of the fire. She also wanted the living room to be white on white.
Her huge walk-in closet is like no other closet, with a large island in the middle. She designed it after a closet that Roe built for her in Charlotte, NC.
She designed the home with maid quarters so that she could have a live-in care taker.
The breath-taking entry featured a baby grand piano and an organ given to her by Frank Sinatra.
She requested a lake front view with lots of trees, and a circular driveway with a 3-1/2 car garage, because she loved to entertain. The home sits on a 110-acre lake and comes with a beautiful pontoon boat docked right in front of the house!
She wanted the home designed with rich, dark wood and crown molding in every room. Roe spared no expense in meeting her requests and spent over $300,000 on Cheery Wood throughout the house.
She asked that the exterior be stucco with wood shake shingles.
She also wanted Roe to have a large office space so that he could design his churches right there at home. He continues to design and build churches and has now built 1,764 churches in 47 states in the U.S.
